Building a show quality interior to match the rest of your build can be a daunting task. For most classic car restorers sewing together upholstery is an unlearned skill. But using some readily available components you can achieve professional looking results. Depending on your vehicle model a door panel could be composed of several interior panels joined together or just one whole piece.

Car door panels can be expensive depending on the vehicle make and model. Upholster door panels without sewing by using this layering technique. A few other things to note. This series of videos will walk you through building custom interior door panels.

When removing the old panels be sure to remove all staples and hang on to the clips. Do it yourselfers can build their own panels with a few power tools and glue. The lumber that i generally use is 1 inch thick but as my interior door is 1 3 8 inches thick i needed to laminate two boards together to get it to my required thickness.
